Auctually....I wouldn't give it any stars if I had a choice. How a book with that tittle could be boreing I'll never know but it was! I though it was pretty dry reading, as well as badly written. I had a bookstore for many years and I'm always interested to see where the reading trends are going so I thought I'd try to learn a little more about that mind set. It was repedative, disjointed and I didn't finish it. I really couldn't recommend that anyone buy it. He quoted some ads off the internet, as well as some newspaper stories and gave us a rambling dialog about what he thought the life style was about. I did find it interesting that law enforcement is having a hard time trying to figure out how to prosecute these crimes of abuse because the person has contracted for them. Never having experienced it I couldn't say if he was right or wrong but for me I didn't feel as if I'd learned anything about the "why" of people seeking out pain, or for that matter how you could enjoy hurting someone you supposedly care for. Altho I believe anything consenting adults want to do is ok, I worry that 50 shades of Gray will give men the wrong idea of what women want in a sexual relationship. i don't think women really want to be beat....... I think they just want permission to be sexual from the man in their life. That said, I think it's one thing to read about it, another to seek it out.
I met Dr. K personally. I felt compelled to buy his book. It was a real eye opener for me. It is hard to believe these things happen in our country or anywhere else.
